Warren Mott Class of 1977 - Book Club
The Mottley Bookers is our club name. Mottley, as in “having or composed of many different or clashing elements” and Bookers, to describe “one who reads”. OK, so we took some liberties with the spelling to reflect our high school roots and twisted the definition of bookers to our liking but doesn’t a heterogeneous reading group describe us perfectly?
We plan on selecting 9 books a year to read (Jan, Feb, Mar, April, May & June, July & Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov & Dec). This gives us a break in the summer and during the main holiday season.
We will get together the first Monday of the following month to discuss the book. Meeting place and time are as follows:
Memphis Smoke 6:30 PM
100 S. Main (SW Corner of 11 and Main)
Royal Oak, MI
We will host an online CHAT in The Class Pub two days later on the first Wednesday of the month for anyone who couldn’t be there in person – that includes all of you “Out of Towners”. The CHAT will start at 9:00PM EST.
We will try to select interesting books that appeal to a Mottley group such as ours; however, you must agree to excuse us if we blow it and you don’t like our choice. Your suggestions are always welcome (if you are brave enough to share in the blame).
We will select books available in paperback to limit the cost to participate.
Discussion dates, times and location will be posted on the “Lets Get Together” calendar.
This is a really low key, no obligation, NO GUILT group that is looking to have some fun. So please join us!
